Learn to Surf in Mentawai

Our ‘Learn to Surf’ package is set on a gentle, sandy-bottomed wave located directly in front of our resort, almost unbelievably convenient, and absolutely ideal for beginners taking their first steps on a surfboard. In addition to this wave, we also have access to another nearby spot that breaks over dead coral. While surf booties are recommended here, it often offers better conditions than the sandy break and remains perfectly suitable for those just starting out. For those who can already stand up on a board but are looking to progress beyond foam boards, we have five mellow reef breaks in the area. These waves are easy-going, deep enough for comfort, and excellent for developing your technique and building confidence in the water.

You’ll find a left-hander, a right-hander, and a fun A-frame, all just moments from your room. Additionally, we’re within easy reach of over 20 renowned Mentawai surf spots including Beng Beng, Ebay, Hideaways, Nipussi, Burgerworld, Kandui, Riffles and many more.
