Surf and Culture Adventure
13 days / 12 nights weaving legendary Arugam Bay surf with leopard safaris, tea country, sacred temples and the Nine Arch Bridge.
Surf Arugam Bay, then explore Sri Lanka's cultural heart
If you're looking for more than just perfect waves — if you're craving a journey that nourishes the soul as much as it stokes your surf spirit — then Ocean Fever's 13 day / 12 night Sri Lanka adventure is calling. This experience weaves together legendary surf breaks, ancient culture, exotic wildlife, and mountain magic into one unforgettable journey. With the golden coastlines of Arugam Bay as your surf base and a route that takes you from cinnamon groves to sacred temples, this is Sri Lanka like you've never seen it.
Your adventure begins with a gentle landing in Ambalangoda, a quiet coastal town where you can unwind and acclimatise. The next day, you're immersed in the country's biodiversity with a Madu River safari through mangrove-laced backwaters, a visit to a traditional coconut and cinnamon processing village, and a scenic coastal journey to the UNESCO heritage site of Galle Fort. Later, a 4×4 leopard safari in Wilpattu National Park and a night in Yala deliver that wild, untamed side of the island.
From Yala, your path curves east to the surf mecca of Arugam Bay. For six glorious days, this laid-back town becomes your playground. Long, glassy right-handers at Pottuvil Point, mellow waves perfect for beginners, and the barefoot rhythm of tropical surf life. Days begin with sunrise surfs and end with beach bonfires, live music, and good vibes.
But the journey doesn't end when the waves do. Heading inland to the emerald highlands of Ella, you'll walk across the breathtaking Nine Arch Bridge, hike Little Adam's Peak, and board one of the world's most scenic train rides through rolling tea country. The final leg brings you to Kandy — the sacred Temple of the Tooth and an electrifying Kandyan cultural show of drumming, fire, and masked dancers.
