OCEAN FEVER's Laredo Learn to Surf is designed for surfers who want more than just lessons — it's about immersion, flow, and living in sync with the sea. Over 7 nights / 8 days you'll surf daily with experienced local instructors who understand the moods of the Cantabrian coast, tailoring each 1.5-hour session to conditions and ability. Whether you're progressing your skills or simply enjoying consistent time in the water, every session is shaped by the ocean on the day.
Days fall into a natural rhythm: breakfast, surf, recovery. After your morning session, time is yours — relax on the beach, explore the old town, refuel with local seafood, or simply rest and reset. Evenings are unforced and social: shared surf stories, sunset walks, and the kind of conversations that only happen after time in the water.
Laredo & the surf
Hotel Cosmopol — opposite La Salve Beach
You'll be based at the Hotel Cosmopol, perfectly positioned right opposite La Salve Beach — one of the longest beaches on the Cantabrian coast and Laredo's main surf zone. Quietly set just metres from the sand and moments from the historic old town, it's one of the best-located hotels in Laredo for surfers: close enough to roll out of bed and feel the salt air immediately.
The hotel itself is a spacious, comfortable six-storey complex designed for relaxed coastal living. It features an outdoor pool, restaurant, café and a large terrace — ideal for post-surf breakfasts, afternoon downtime or winding down after a long day in the water. All rooms are exterior-facing with private balconies; some overlook the Cantabrian Sea and Salvé Beach, others face the town or surrounding residential areas, offering a calm and welcoming base just steps from both the beach and local life.
Beyond the surf
Beyond Laredo, the region offers rich opportunities for exploration. Historic fishing towns like Santoña and Castro Urdiales, or cultural hubs such as Bilbao and Santander, are all within easy reach — perfect for rest days or casual excursions without disrupting the surf flow. Transfers
- Transfers are arranged from Bilbao Airport (BIO).
- Outbound transfer departs Bilbao Airport at 18:30 (6:30 PM) local time.
- Return transfer arrives at Bilbao Airport around 15:30 (3:30 PM) local time.
- You can fly into Bilbao on any flight, but our transfers are matched to this schedule — you may need to wait at the airport until departure, and your return flight should suit the above timings.
